The alarm at the home of former president George H.W. Bush was left broken for over a year before the Secret Service finally got around to fixing it. A report due out Thursday, which recommends upgrades to the maintenance request system, says the alarm failed in September 2013 and wasn't replaced until November of the following year—despite earlier reports to the agency that it was likely to fail soon. Instead, the Secret Service added a single agent to Bush's property to make up for the system.
