After eight days of historic protests in Egypt, there’s still no end in sight. Demonstrators, unimpressed by President Mubarak's televised address, in which he vowed not to seek reelection and institute constitutional reform in his final months in power, have vowed to stay on the streets unless he leaves office immediately. Mubarak's speech elicited mostly jeers from the hundreds of thousands of Egyptians gathered in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, which rang with chants of "Leave! Leave!" as Mubarak spoke. Mubarak "is very stubborn, but we are more stubborn than he is," shouted one protester addressing the throng with a megaphone. "We will not leave the square."
