He's riding high after Tuesday's debate, but Mitt Romney isn't out of the woods yet, writes Frum Forum's D.R. Tucker. The biggest challenge the candidate faces in winning the Republican primary is not his Mormon faith, but rather the fact that his realistic approach to governing contradicts everything the GOP base stands for these days. Romney is “the anti-Tea Party, anti-talk-radio, anti-anti-government candidate,” and despite the fact that “the more rational members of the GOP base” appreciate these characteristics, anything less than absolute distrust of government won’t fly with the party’s larger, more “combative” faction. In other words, if he wants to win the nomination, Mitt may need to drink the Kool-Aid, er, Tea.
