Actress Amanda Peterson, most remembered for her leading role starring opposite Patrick Dempsey in the 1987 comedy Can’t Buy Me Love, died at her home in Greeley, Colorado. She was 43. It wasn’t immediately clear how she died, but Peterson’s father told TMZ “she had some illness and a sleep apnea problem that may have contributed.” Peterson, who made her first big-screen appearance in John Huston’s adaptation of the musical Annie, had been retired from the film industry for some time. Her last film credit was in 1994 for Windrunner, but she had also had a number of TV roles. She is survived by her husband David and two children.
