In a monumental social step-up, the Duchess of Cambridge's mother and father Carole and Michael Middleton were seated in the Royal Box at Wimbledon today.
Just last week they were seated in the regular stands.
Evident today was a new signet ring that Carole has recently taken to wearing on the little finger of her right hand.
It bears an acorn design from the coat of arms the Middletons have had specially commissioned in their own honour.
As future Queen, their daughter Kate is entitled to her own crest, but her parents applied to the College of Arms last year for a heraldic motif that the whole family can use.
