From the YouTube creator behind such genius pop culture remixes as “The Wolf of Wall Street Chest Thump Mix” comes a new video that is going to be very helpful this month for anyone who wants to get on the hype train for J.J. Abrams’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens but doesn’t have the “impeccable memory” of Donald Trump.
Starting with the maligned prequel trilogy of the late ’90s/early aughts and then moving through the original George Lucas-helmed trilogy of the late ’70s/early ’80s, the new video hits all the major plot points while leaving out much of the humor and charm.
We see little Ani “My Name Is Anakin” Skywalker transform into the evil Darth Vader in just under 90 seconds before a deft transition from the more recent films into the classic series. There’s time for Princess Leia’s “Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi” but not “You’re my only hope.” You will also learn that Harrison Ford’s Han Solo is essentially irrelevant to the primary plot.
If you are already on the Star Wars bandwagon, this video will probably infuriate you. But if you’re not, you will be thanking its creator come Christmas.
