The San Diego Chargers, the Oakland Raiders, and the St. Louis Rams officially filed to relocate to Los Angeles on Monday, the National Football League confirmed in a statement. The NFL said the applications will be reviewed by league staff and three committees that will meet in New York on Wednesday and Thursday. The application will then be presented to NFL owners at their meeting in Houston on Jan. 13-14, according to the statement. The relocation of a franchise requires a vote of three-quarters of the 32 NFL clubs. “We have tried for more than 14 years, through nine separate proposals and seven different mayors, to create a world-class stadium experience for fans in San Diego,” a Chargers team statement read. “Despite these efforts, there is still no certain, actionable solution to the stadium problem. We are sad to have reached this point.”
