Charles Manson was reportedly removed from prison to receive treatment at a local hospital for an undisclosed ailment. According to TMZ, the convicted murderer left the California State Prison at Corcoran on Tuesday to receive treatment at a facility in Bakersfield, nearly an hour away from the penetentiary. Manson has been serving out his life sentence—for nine charges of conspiracy to commit the Manson Family murders—at Corcoran since 1989, when he was transferred there from San Quentin.
