A Marine who received a Purple Heart in Iraq was one of four Marines killed in Chattanooga on Thursday, his family said. Sargent Thomas J. Sullivan, 40, is from Springfield, Massachusetts. “The family produced the sterile military document announcing Tommy’s death, a piece of paper that didn’t seem any more important than the TV Guide, reporting his passing matter-of-factly and without much detail,” the Springfield Republican reports. The Department of Defense identified the three other Marines as Lance Corporal Skip "Squire" Wells, Sargent Carson Holmquist, and Staff Sargent David Wyatt.
