Marc Ambinder has an astute observation over on his blog at The Atlantic: “One under-reported skill demonstrated by Obama's communications team is its ability to frame the election on their terms by slowly, meticulously repeating their version of the crucial choice before the electorate. Eventually, their frames have been internalized by voters and members of the media, almost without anyone noticing that it happened.” See “change versus experience” in the primary and, these days, Obama’s coolness versus McCain’s “erratic” temper. “This is why,” Ambinder writes, “voters and members of the media recoiled so quickly at John McCain's repeated stunts in September.”
