In a major purge, MySpace has announced it has deleted 90,000 accounted owned by registered sex offenders. The move by the News Corp.-owned social networking giant is good news for worried parents—and the security company MySpace used to track down the accounts, Sentinel, which is using the publicity book to get Facebook to sign a contract. Sentinel CEO John Cardillo says thousands of those banned from MySpace can now be found on the “safe haven” Facebook. For its part, MySpace said in a statement that it’s “proud of its leadership position and hopes that Facebook follows our lead in providing their members with the same protections.” Over to you, Zuckerberg.
