This doesn't bode well for Obama's intention to increase attention to Afghanistan: a recent poll conducted by ABC News shows "sagging support" from Afghans for the U.S. presence in their country. Many appear fearful for their overall safety, with only 55 percent rating their security positively, down from 72 percent in 2005, reports The Washington Post. A quarter of those polled claimed attacks on American or allied forces were justifiable, and eight in 10 people called coalition strikes "unacceptable." As support for President Hamid Karzai wanes, many citizens believe public corruption is a problem, and fewer believe the country is headed in the right direction.
