Brett Favre announced his retirement today, marking the end (once again) of one of the most successful careers in NFL history. The quarterback, who spent his final season with The New York Jets, praised the Jets organization, including teammates Thomas Jones and Kerry Rhodes, who both criticized him after their final game. He also thanked ex-coach Eric Mangini (now with the Cleveland Browns), who was fired from the Jets after their late-season meltdown, for which Favre shouldered much of the blame. Favre's final season is notable only for how unmemorable it was; when people reminisce about about the future Hall of Famer, it will be of his days in a Green Bay Packer uniform. Favre retires holding numerous records, including consecutive starts for a quarterback, passing yards, interceptions and touchdowns.
