Menswear designer Robert Geller is now the winner of GQ's Second Annual Best Menswear Designers in America Project. Established last year in collaboration with the CFDA (the Council of Fashion Designers of America, basically the mafia for clothes), the award grants one outstanding menswear talent "a $50,000 cash price and the opportunity to create a limited-edition collection for Levi's brand," says Men's Style.com. The Levi's collection (should Geller chooses to design it) will drop first on Levis.com, and subsequently for a month-long exclusive at Bloomingdale's locations at the start of next New York Fashion Week. As for the $50,000, whether or not it will go towards business or pleasure remains to be seen. Also nominated for the award: André Benjamin of Benjamin Bixby, David Mullen of Save Khaki, Alex Carleton of Rogues Gallery, Robert Geller, Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos of Shipley & Halmos, and Yigal Azrouël.
