Two bombs exploded in a tourist area in the Egyptian capital, killing at least four. A French woman was among the dead after an explosion at the historic Khan el-Khalili market in eastern Cairo, a popular spot for foreigners to buy souvenirs and sit at outdoor coffee shops. Seventeen were wounded, the Egyptian health minister said, including 10 French tourists, a German, and three Saudis, after two devices were thrown from a motorcycle and detonated. Tourism hit a record last year in Egypt after a lull in terrorist attacks; in recent decades, Islamic militants have targeted the country’s tourist industry with bombs and shooting attacks.
