Hey no, he won't go. Kentucky Senator Jim Bunning said Tuesday that he'll sue the National Republican Senatorial Committee if they recruit someone to challenge him in his primary. On the heels of a tasteless gaffe about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's lifespan, NRSC officials met with Kentucky Senate President David Williams, who is contemplating challenging Bunning. Though Cornyn reiterated the NRSC's support for Bunning on Monday, the Kentuckian remains displeased: "I don't believe anything John Cornyn says," Bunning told the Courier-Journal. "He either doesn't understand English or he doesn't understand direct: 'I'm going to run,' which I said to him in the cloakroom of our chamber."
