New U.S. Attorney General served notice to Mexican drug cartels today, announcing that federal agents had arrested 52 people suspected of trafficking. The arrests are part of "Operation: Xcellerator," a 21-month endeavor by the feds that has netted 750 arrests and 23 tons of drugs. In recent months, concern has been growing over the out of control drug war in Mexico spilling into the U.S. The Department of Homeland Security has stated that plans are in place should the extreme violence south of the border spread north. Major U.S. cities as far away as Sioux Falls, SD have reported a rise in gang related violence connected to the cartels.
