Adele has the most soulful pipes this side of the pond, but the young British singer doesn’t hold back in the style department either. In a new Vogue profile accompanied by an Annie Leibovitz photo shoot, we learn that the Grammy Award winner’s style is “really elegant but very urban and a little bit ghetto,” and she prefers "old vintage cardies with beads and pearls sewn into flowers” that turn the south London girl into the likeness of a proper soulful sixties diva. She has an eye for mixing high and low designers—in her closet H&M, Miss Selfridge, and Topshop live next to items by Vivienne Westwood and Aquascutum—but “regrets that she no longer has time to rummage in street markets.” After scoring a manager and album deal from MySpace at the age of 19, and selling 500,000 copies of her debut record, the belter can probably put the flea market on the back burner.
