Matt Drudge’s own medicine apparently doesn’t taste too good. The conservative journalist who built his name by probing the prurient details of politicians’ lives (he uncovered the Lewinsky scandal) has, according to Gabe Sherman in The New Republic, “gone almost completely underground.” According to Sherman, “One source relays that, these days, the only media figures he talks to regularly are a select group that includes Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and Andrew Breitbart, the conservative blogger who has helped run the Drudge Report on a part-time basis.” Drudge may be trying to fend off inquiries into his own personal life, particularly his sexual orientation. "He wants no part of a lot of this," a friend tells Sherman. "He sees it as nonsense. He doesn't have respect for the way people have tried to write about him."
