Since the first year of George W. Bush's presidency in 2001, the Republican Party has maintained its support only among frequent churchgoers, with conservatives and senior citizens showing minimal decline.” Losses are particularly large among college graduates, whose support for the Republican Party has dropped 10 percent since 2001. Only 27 percent of respondents identified as Republican Party members.
