The Obama family made time this weekend on their trip to Paris to soak up a little culture: a visit to the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Pompidou Center, amidst throngs of fans eager to get a glimpse of political royalty. The Obamas spent around 90 minutes inside the museum, which currently features an exhibition of works by American sculptor Alexander Calder and another of works by abstract pioneer Vassily Kandinsky. At one point, the president was seen from a top-floor walkway, waving to passersby who followed the family around the city with fervent admiration. "I saw God before me," said restaurant owner Jacques Boudon of the first lady upon serving the family at his bistro. “I saw this smile that a million people have seen around the world. I saw her (Michelle) radiant. ... It's idiotic, but it's like that.”
