A first-time novelist won the International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award, which comes with a 100,000-euro prize,on Thursday. Michael Thomas is a Boston native who lives in New York with his wife and three children. His novel, Man Gone Down, beat out 145 other titles nominated by 157 public libraries from 41 other countries. Man Gone Down was called “brilliant in scope and energy, and deeply moving in its human warmth” by the competition’s judges.
