That's Colonel Ron Douglas to you! Mr. Douglas, a Long Island, NY, resident and former Wall Street finance manager, claims to have re-created the flavor profile of Kentucky Fried Chicken's famously secret 11 herbs and spices used to flavor their chicken. Two years ago, Douglas quit his job at JP Morgan to dedicate himself full-time to re-creating the famously secret recipe, and along the way started developing recipes for dishes from other food chains, such as Applebee's and Denny's. And now that Douglas knows how to make the food court favorites, he's going public with the ingredients in his cookbook "America's Most Wanted Recipes." But how close to the original Colonel's recipe is Douglas's? "Nobody knows what those 11 herbs and spices are. But if you taste my chicken, you would find the flavor very similar to KFC," Douglas said.
