On Monday, Pop artist James Rosenquist celebrated the publication of his new memoir, Painting Below Zero, with a private party attended by New Yorker political writer Hendrik Hertzberg, actors Crispin Glover and Joel Grey, and novelist and radio show host Kurt Andersen. Rosenquist's two-dimensional work was projected into three, sculptures hanging from the ceiling, and models posed nude in metallic paint. Rosenquist's book was being handed out for free, though requesting autographs was considered gauche. "Just general Nebraska embarrassment reasons," Andersen explained before he slipped away to claim a copy before they all disappeared.
