After two days closed, the U.S. embassy in Yemen reopened Tuesday, saying that Yemeni counterterrorism operations had dealt with the threat. The embassy is resuming operations a day after the Yemeni government killed two people in a tribal village who had been identified as al Qaeda militants. Despite the reopening, the embassy said that the terrorist threat remains high, and that U.S. citizens in Yemen should be "vigilant and take prudent security measures." The British, French, and Czech embassies had all also been closed Monday.
