Former Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton have joined forces as they work to bring aid to survivors in Haiti, a situation that Clinton said today on Meet the Press “reminds us of our common humanity. It reminds us of needs that go beyond fleeting disagreements.” Bush echoed the sentiment as the two appeared on five Sunday talk shows, saying “I’d say now is not the time to focus on politics.” Bush also revealed that during his presidency the pair “chatted on occasion,” and both slammed Rush Limbaugh’s criticism that donations made through the White House Web site would not be used for relief efforts. “I just think it doesn’t do us any good to waste any time in what is in my opinion a fruitless and pointless conversation,” said Clinton.
