Could this snuff the Kindle? HarperCollins is in talks with Apple to make electronic books available for the launch of Apple’s upcoming tablet device, according to The Wall Street Journal. The details aren’t all worked out, but HarperCollins is expected to set the price of the books with Apple taking a chunk of the sales. It’s also unclear whether the books will be sold through iTunes. On Monday, Apple invited reporters to an event to “come see our latest creation,” widely expected to be the tablet unveiling, on January 27. The tablet is then expected to hit markets in March.
