Former Nightline anchor Ted Koppel will not be George Stephanopoulos' replacement on This Week, Broadcasting & Cable reports. Although Koppel and ABC were talking about the gig and Politico reported a $1 million deal between the two, the negotiations actually ended without an offer. Koppel had denied the Politico story, but the anchor's team allegedly leaked reports of the talks, which is one of the reasons ABC was frustrated with him, because it is not the first time he has shared information before a deal was reached. Koppel also wanted to bring his producer, Tom Bettag, with him, and ABC has stressed that current executive producer Ian Cameron "is and will be the executive producer of This Week."
