Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other September 11 conspirators will not, apparently, have their days in court, at least not in New York: The Washington Post says that the Obama administration appears to have dropped plans to try the five men in lower Manhattan. “It seems less and less likely,” says a senior administration official. Mayor Bloomberg recently changed his mind on the trials, saying the security and financial costs were too great. Senator Diane Feinstein, chairwoman of the Intelligence Committee, also wrote President Obama a letter saying he should move the trial to a “less prominent, less costly, and equally secure location.”
