In an upset, Serena Williams beat Belgian Justine Henin in the Australian Open Saturday, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2, allowing Williams to claim her 12th Grand Slam title, and fourth in Melbourne. The match was especially dramatic because of Henin's recent return from retirement; just two weeks ago, she was unranked and unseeded. "It's good to have her back, it's exciting," Williams said of her opponent. "She can definitely be No. 1, especially with our ranking system, if she keeps doing well." Henin, for her part, was a gracious loser, telling the crowd, "It's been a very emotional two weeks for me. I thought it would never happen to me again. I'd like to congratulate Serena. She's a real champion." Yesterday, Williams and her sister Venus won the women's double title. Venus lost in the singles quarterfinals to China's Na Li.
