After winning over the judges with her platform of fighting against childhood obesity and soulful rendition of "Listen" from Dreamgirls, Miss Virginia Caressa Cameron was crowned Miss America Saturday in Las Vegas. The 22-year-old Virginia Commonwealth broadcasting student was awarded a $50,000 scholarship and says the title has always been a dream, and she wants to “make a difference in lot of communities." Her next goal is to become an anchor. Cameron was crowned by Miss America 2009 Katie Stam, whose boyfriend had just proposed the previous night. Miss California Kristy Cavinder was the first runner-up and was awarded $25,000 in the Mario Lopez-hosted pageant.
