The age of beverage politics is upon us. After all the uproar created by the Tea Party, here comes the Coffee Party, a group that strives to bring civility and inclusiveness to increasingly angry and partisan political discourse. Founded essentially by accident by Annabel Park, a documentary film maker in Silver Spring, Md., the grassroots Coffee Party began with a mere Facebook status update. “Let's get together and drink cappuccino and have real political dialogue with substance and compassion,” she wrote. The response to it was massive. Soon she found herself as the de facto coordinator of Coffee Party USA as chapters meet up across the country, hoping to pressure government into keeping its promises for change. It currently has over 9,000 Facebook fans.
