Anticipation of Tina Fey’s appearance on Saturday Night Live tonight is eclipsing buzz for her generally well-received movie Date Night, which opened Friday. Fey will be reprising her wildly popular impersonation of Sarah Palin, though in what context has not been made public. The 30 Rock star is ostensibly appearing on the sketch comedy show to promote Date Night, co-starring Steve Carell. The Los Angeles Times says, “these two are phone-book funny: They can make you laugh by reading anything at all.” Nevertheless, “When we see what these two can do, the feeling is inescapable that Date Night has left some laughs on the table.” Even so, the film is positioned to post the biggest box-office numbers this weekend, at $9 million, with Clash of the Titans a close second.
