Basketball fans can rest easy for the next 14 years—CBS Sports, Turner Sports, and the NCAA have signed an $11-billion deal to broadcast a 68-team tournament after a long stretch of negotiations. “This is a landmark opportunity for the NCAA to further advance the Division I men’s basketball championship,” said the vice president of the NCAA. CBS and Turner Sports outbid both Fox and ESPN for the deal, agreeing to pay close to $776 million per year to broadcast the tournament, a 42 percent increase in fees from CBS’ previous deal with the NCAA. Games will air on CBS, TBS, TNT, and truTV.
