Kind of like sympathy pains? A new study by the Journal of the American Medical Association reveals that at least one in 10 men suffer from postpartum depression. The journal analyzes 43 different studies of more than 28,000 men, and finds that more than 10 percent of men suffer from depression when a new baby is born, and more than 25 percent of men with a three-month-old were depressed. Fathers were also found to be twice as likely to be depressed if they had a depressed partner. While the causes of postpartum depression in women have been fairly well studied, some critics pointed out that the new JAMA study did not outline any of the reasons for men’s postpartum depression.
