Though he just made his Broadway debut this year, former Will & Grace star Sean Hayes will host the 2010 Tony Awards, theater’s biggest night, next month. Hayes is currently starring in the Tony-nominated play Promises, Promises, alongside Broadway mainstay Kristin Chenoweth. “I am absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Tony Awards,” Hayes said in a statement after Monday’s announcement. “As the new guy on Broadway, it's an honor to be included in the established alumni.” Last year, Tony host Neil Patrick Harris brought in the ceremony’s highest ratings in three years. Time will tell how Hayes will fare with audiences when the 64th Annual Tony Awards are broadcast live from New York’s Radio City Music Hall on June 13 on CBS.
