More bad news from the auto industry. On Friday, Chrysler announced a recall of 25,000 vehicles, namely the 2007 Dodge Caliber and Jeep Compass models. The reason? More sticky gas pedals. In May, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened an investigation into the problem after receiving a handful of consumer complaints. Drivers insisted that when they eased up on the gas pedal, it didn't return to an idle position. The recall will target cars manufactured on March 7, 2006, and May 19, 2006. Curiously, the faulty pedals were built by CTS Corp., the same company that produced the notoriously malfunctioning Toyota gas pedals that led to a recall of 2 million-plus Toyota vehicles this year.
