Marvin Isley, the youngest brother and bassist in the hit R&B group the Isley Brothers, died on June 6 after a 20-year struggle with diabetes, at the age 56, in Chicago. His fight with diabetes had cost him both his legs in 1997. He and his five brothers formed the R&B that had 14 Top 10 hits from 1975 to 1980, including “Livin’ the Life” and “Harvest for the World.” In 1984, he and two other brothers split and formed their own group, called Isley Jasper Isley, and released a number 1 hit, “Caravan of Love.” He is survived by his brothers, his wife, a son and two daughters.
