Mara Altman’s quest for an orgasm, as chronicled in her book, Thanks for Coming, is HBO’s new bet against Showtime’s Californication and Hung. The book is being adapted for television by Mark Steven Johnson, who wrote Grumpy Old Men, and directed by Howard Deutch, who helmed Pretty in Pink. No actors have been attached as of yet, but on the upside, Altman seems to be on her way to finding her Holy Grail. “I've had some luck with the orgasm," she said. As a former writer for The Village Voice, was Altman nervous about exposing her private life? Apparently not. "I realized that I could hit two birds with one stone—put my journalistic and writing interests to work while going on a personal journey for something that had left me mystified my whole life."
