BP CEO Tony Hayward can expect a grilling when he testifies before Congress on Thursday: House Energy and Commerce Committee Chair Henry Waxman and Rep. Bart Stupak have written a warning letter to Hayward in which they say BP "made multiple decisions for economic reasons that increased the danger of a catastrophic well failure." The congressmen go on to say that BP made five key decisions which seriously compromised the design of the well. "The common feature of these five decisions is that they posed a trade-off between cost and well safety," the letter says. BP would not comment on the letter, only saying Hayward will have a chance to answer questions on Thursday.
