After a five-day walkout and a series of tense negotiations, Spirit Airlines struck a deal with its pilots to return to work. The airline and the union, however, have not yet decided when they will resume normal service, and all flights have been canceled through Thursday. Spirit’s pilots had walked out over a salary dispute, demanding to earn something comparable to pilots at other discount airlines like JetBlue and AirTran Airways. The strike grounded the entire airline, leaving as many as 16,000 passengers a day without their scheduled flights.
