Despite many efforts to reach out to Islamic communities both at home and abroad, President Obama’s popularity is slipping in many Muslim countries, a new survey finds. Among all Muslim countries confidence in Obama dropped from 41 percent to 31 percent since 2009, according to the Pew Global Studies Project. Just 5 percent of Pakistanis have confidence in Obama; Turkey, Egypt and Lebanon showed 10 percent drops in confidence. One bright spot for the president is Nigeria, where 77 percent of the people have confidence in him, down only four points in a year. A key reason cited in the decline is Obama’s opposition to Iran’s nuclear program.
