The Mariam, the all-female ship that is set to try to break Israel's naval blockade of Gaza, will have to do without one of its sirens: Hezbollah has forbidden Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe from participating due to her "nudity, degradation, and immodest dress." The organizers of the female "freedom flotilla" have denied any links to Hezbollah and dismissed the report as an attempt to smear their mission. Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak has said that Lebanon will be held responsible for any "violent and dangerous confrontation." But the ship, named for the Virgin Mary, still plans to set sail in a few days. Israel has partially lifted its blockade of Gaza by allowing it to receive goods by land, but it will continue to enforce the naval blockade.
