The Justice Department has announced that 11 Americans have been charged with spying on behalf of Russia—accused of recruiting political sources and gathering intel to send back to Moscow, reports MSNBC. One of the spies is still at large. Eight of the 11 were arrested for participating in “deep cover” assignments for Russia, and nine of the 11 have been charged with conspiracy to commit money laundering. The group operated under phony identities, some of them assuming the lives of dead Americans. All will appear in court in New York, Boston, and Alexandria, Virginia.
