He may not be a “hottie spy” like Russian Anna Chapman, but he was busted nonetheless: A Hawaiian federal jury has convicted Noshir Gowadia on 14 counts including conspiracy, violating the Arms Export Control Act, money-laundering, and communicating national defense information to aid a foreign nation. Gowadia, 67, who had helped design B-2 bombers from 1968 to 1986, had pleaded not guilty. The decision was rendered after six days of deliberations. Prosecutors argued that between 2003 and 2005 Gowadia had helped China design a device to help Chinese missiles avoid U.S. radar detection in order to fund a $15,000-a-month mortgage on his large home on Maui's North Shore. Gowadia's defense, however, contended that though Gowadia did indeed help the Chinese, the knowledge he imparted was "basic stuff," pieced together from unclassified publicly available information.
