Hope you don’t fear spinal taps: Scientists have developed a test that can identify Alzheimer’s in people with memory loss with 100 percent accuracy, according to The New York Times. Previously, the only way to detect the disease was by an autopsy after the patient died. It is now believed that Alzheimer’s begins to develop more than a decade before victims begin showing symptoms, so predictive tests are important. “This is what everyone is looking for, the bull’s-eye of perfect predictive accuracy,” says one doctor not connected with the research.
