Sprint has released the Samsung Epic, the second-ever phone to run on 4G. So does it surpass its predecessor, the EVO? “In almost every way,” says Gizmodo. The Android-powered phone features a slide-out keyboard and a large screen, but what of the 4G network? Gizmodo says that, when connected to the 4G network, the Epic has internet speeds about three times as fast as other phones; even better, you can use data and make calls simultaneously, plus when there’s 4G access, you can use the phone to set up a hotspot that will allow you to connect other wireless devices, like iPad and 3G phones, to the net. Gizmodo’s main complaints are mediocre battery life and occasional and sudden failures of downloads.
