We don’t think this is going to work: LeBron James is attempting to salve some of the wounds he left in Cleveland by insisting in an interview with GQ that he was never from there in the first place. “[Akron’s] not far, but it is far,” he says. "And Clevelanders, because they were the bigger-city kids when we were growing up, looked down on us ... So we didn't actually like Cleveland. We hated Cleveland growing up. There's a lot of people in Cleveland we still hate to this day." James says he’ll still spend his summers in Akron, and though he said Cleveland fans were “awesome,” he refused to revise his earlier statement that they were spoiled, too. “I mean, even my family gets spoiled at times watching me doing things that I do, on and off the court."
