Now we can be even more socially connected than we already are. In an effort to eke into the location services market, Facebook introduced Places, its new feature to rival mobile-app Foursquare. Google has also been trying to create a similar program. Though the issue is nothing new to Facebook, some have raised concerns about privacy of the service, because it allows a user’s friends to tag them in a certain location. One initial safeguard is that only friends will be able to view location-sensitive information. Despite the hype surrounding the program, Facebook didn't say how they expect to make money off of Places.
