For Rod Blagojevich, the discharged former governor of Illinois, it seems life couldn’t get any worse—until now. On Thursday, a moving company in Arlington Heights, Illinois, auctioned off a number of Blagojevich’s items because he stopped paying rent for a storage unit there. Two Elvis impersonators wooed buyers as people dug through boxes of photos, campaign buttons, and other Blagojevich bric-a-brac. The most sought-after item, a statue of Elvis, went for a reported $20,500. “The videotapes are too much,” Steve Huisel, a 25-year-old Motorola employee, told The New York Times. “We shouldn’t be looking at his family’s business.” Huisel, instead, bought a photo of the former governor with a group of children for $75. “I think it will be funny to have in my home right in my living room,” he said.
